He put it simply: giving employees an AI tool to do things faster often just means they finish quicker and then... go for a coffee break! While tasks get done in less time, the overall output or "productivity" of the company doesn't automatically jump.
So, what's the secret to unlocking real gains from AI? Tinati says it's not just about speeding up existing tasks. True productivity improvements require companies to completely rethink and redesign how work is done. Instead of just adding AI to old processes, businesses need to invent new, smarter ways of working. This is why some companies, especially in Asia, are struggling to get real benefits from AI – they're just trying to speed up old ways of working instead of inventing new ones.

And OpenAI CEO Sam Altman agrees, suggesting that while jobs will certainly look very different in the future, they will still be meaningful. He even joked that future jobs might look like "playing games" to us today, but will be very important to those living them.
