Stock Market Lesson (Stock Averaging)

Stock Averaging

You buy 10 stocks for 100 Rs on Day 1. Price of stock is 10 Rs. 10 Days later lets say, stock price comes down to 8 INR and you buy 10 more stocks. The price of stock today is 8 Rs. Total number of shares with you is 20. For a price of: (10 + 8) * 10 Then average 'Stock Price' for your stock for you is: 9 Rs Now, let's us, you buy 10 stocks for 100 Rs. For Rs 10 per share. 10 days later, stock price rises to 15 INR. You buy 10 more shares for Rs 15 per share. Total number of shares with is now 20. Then average 'Stock Price' for your stock is: 12.5 INR

% If your stock is going up, you have to keep averaging it.
% Always average your Winners. Never average your Losers.

Other Tips

% When markets are volatile, it is hard to detect individual good or bad stocks. % When markets are going up, it is easier to go up with the tide but it is hard to justify why a particular low-profile stock has gone up or gone down. % You should always compare your stock with market benchmarks such as Nifty50 and Sensex. % Good stocks shoot up like anything when the market benchmarks are going up by like 1% (which is considered a high fluctuation for Nifty50 and Sensex).

Andy Fisher (Chapter 1) 2022-Feb-2

Index of Journals
I had met him long time back (i.e. 2019) for a handshake but theoretically this was when we first time met.

My recollections of Andy Fisher are from the times when I met him in his lab, in the cafeteria on his floor, from the occasional lunch table meetings during weekdays and the occasional food court meetings during the weekends.

I was with Lakshay Sharma in the food court on that weekend in 2019 and Lakshay introduced me to Andy Fisher that afternoon.

Andy Fisher is a tall, handsome man in early 30s (in 2019), with height maybe 6ft or an inch more.

I used to visit the office food court to read books and prepare summaries on the weekends, and the second time when Andy and I met, it was one such day.

He showed concern as to what was I doing in office every weekend and I seemed to be working very hard and why I wasn't at home and where I lived, where did I come from, etc.

It was during this question answering that I learnt of few Train names from that run between Delhi and Chandigarh. To name a few, it was Una Jan Shatabdi, Kalka Shatabdi, Himalayan Queen, etc. Andy is a very knowledgeable man.

Otherwise who gets 'Out standing' rating seven years in a row.

If you want to understand and know how to sail through Infosys for 25 years or so then Amitabh Manu or Andy Fisher are the people you should reach out to.

Andy prefers to be called by his first name but he lets the young team members use the title 'sir' for him.

If you would talk to him, you would see that he talks in a friendly way and has some thought, some comment, some feedback, some opinion, some point of view, something to say about almost everything that I know.

To conclude I would say that I like him, I like him very much except that he doesn't pick my calls, and does not want me to meet his wife ever (same as Rohit Sud), ha ha!

"A man makes a mistake only once", he would say. Andy had once got in a situation when he and Lakshay Sharma were to be in his wife's presence. Later on Andy regrets that day to this day for something that Lakshay had said.
Andy says it could be worse with me. Ha ha!

I'd tell you more about these folks as the time would come. Thank you for now!

Debugging SSH Setup for two RHEL systems

ISSUE: SLAVE1 IS NOT ABLE TO CONNECT WITH SLAVE2 VIA SSH WITHOUT PASSWORD PROMPT.

IP AND HOSTNAME MAPPING:
  10.74.19.50 MASTER
  10.138.22.103 SLAVE1
  10.85.62.107 SLAVE2

COMMANDS FOR DOING SSH SETUP:

  1) sudo iptables -A INPUT -p tcp --dport ssh -j ACCEPT
  2) sudo reboot
  3) ssh-keygen -t rsa -f ~/.ssh/id_rsa -P ""
  4) ssh-copy-id -i ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub projadmin@SLAVE2
  5) ssh-copy-id -i ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub admin@SLAVE1
  6) ssh-copy-id -i ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub admin@MASTER

~~ ~~ ~~

Command "ssh-copy-id" is used to copy your SSH public key to remote server for password less authentication.

MESSAGE YOU GET WHEN SSH KEYS ARE ALREADY PRESENT ON THE REMOTE SYSTEM:

LAST RESORT:

Deleting the everything in the directory: projadmin@SLAVE2:/home/projadmin/.ssh
  Copying public key only again from slave1: (base) [admin@SLAVE1 ~]$ ssh-copy-id -i ~/.ssh/id_rsa.pub projadmin@SLAVE2
The issue still exists. Not able to SSH slave2 from slave1 without password prompt.

The rental business and long distance relationship with mom (2019)

Index of Journals
The idea of starting a rental business was beyond my wildest imaginations.
The main challenge would have been getting people to accept the challenges of a rental business and if it were my initiative, the first challenge would have been mom herself.

Mom learnt of a prospective tenant from our neighbour Mrs Poonam and tenant and tenant's family were ready to move in to the room I was staying in. The grandpa's room.

The tenant's three kids were taking tuition from Mrs Poonam and hence the selection of our house as a place to live.

When I had stayed in Tri Nagar in the summers till August, I had cleared a lot of clutter from granny's room and realigned furniture in grandpa's room.
Sham was staying in the room above mom's. The roof in granny's room and hall to mom's room had fallen down long back. There was no way to room above grandpa's room.
In summers of 2019, I got the roof of two rooms fixed in an expense of about 75000 INR. This was supposed to make the place livable.
In the fall of 2019, mom flooded the house with tenants in every room due to which I had to intervene and had to hear from badi buaji.

At that point in time, the house was less of a house and more of a rooster coop.

12 people, 4 rooms and 1 restroom.

Limited water supply.

I had taken a trip to Delhi from Chandigarh on one weekend to assess the situation and it was a bad feeling that I got on seeing the place this crowded.

Later from the help of Manju bua and Kumkum bua, we asked few tenants to vacate from granny's hall and Manju bua's room above. This stabilized the situation for the time being and from there the business goes on.

How the dog found himself a new master (Translation)

Chapter 2:
Before you read:
You may know that the dog and the wolf are closely related. You may also know something about how over the centuries, human beings have domesticated and tamed wild animals. Here is a story about how the dog became a tame animal.

How the dog found himself a new master

1. Dogs were once their own masters, and lived the way wovles do, in freedom, until a dog was born who was ill pleased with this way of life. He was sick and tired of wandering about by himself looking for food and being frightened of those who were stronger than he. 2. He thought it over and decided that the best thing for him to do was to become the servant of one who was stronger than anyone on earth, and he set out to find such a master. 3. He walked and he walked and he met a kinsman of his, a big wolf who was as strong as he was fierce. "Where are you going, Dog?" the Wolf asked. "I am looking for someone to take up serice with. Would you like to be my master, Wolf?" "I don't see why not!" the Wolf said, and this agreed upon, the two of them went on together. 4. They walked and they walked, and all of a sudden the Wolf lifted his nose, sniffed, darted quickly off the path and into the bushes and crept deeper into the forest. The Dog was much surprised. "What's come over you, master?" he asked. "What has frightened you so?" "Can't you see? There's a Bear out there, and he might eat up both of us - you and me." 5. Seeing that the bear was stronger than the wolf, the dog decided to take up service with him, and he left the wolf and asked the bear to be his master. The bear agreed to this readily and said, "let us go and find a herd of cows. I'll kill a cow and then we can who both eat our fill." 6. They walked on and soon saw a herd of cows, but just as they were about to come up to it they were stopped by a terrible noise. The cows were mooing loudly and running in a panic in all directions. 7. The bear looked out from behind a tree, and then he too ran hastily deeper Into the forest. Now, why did I have to come heresaid he to the dog. It is the lion who rules the forest in these part. "The lion? Who he?" "Don’t you know? He is the strongest beast on Earth. "Well, then. I’ll say goodbye to you, Bear. I want a master who is stronger than anyone earth!" 8. And off the dog went to ask the lion to be his master. The lion agreed to it, and the dogs stayed with him and served him for a long, long time. It was a good life, and he had nothing to complain of, there was no stronger beast in the forest than the Lion, and no one dared touch the dog or offend him in any way. 9. But one day the two of them were walking side by side along a path that ran amid bare cliffs when all of a sudden the lion stopped, he gave a great roar and struck the ground angrily with his paw with such force that a hole formed there. Then he began to back away very quietly. "What is it, master, is anything wrong?" asked the Dog, surprised. "I smell a man coming this way", the Lion said. We ‘d better run for it or we’ll be in trouble." "Oh, well, then I’ll say goodbye to you, Lion. I want a master who is stronger than anyone on earth!" 10. And off the Dog went to join the man and he stayed with him and served him faithfully. This happened long, long ago, but to this day the Dog is man's most loyal servant and knows no other master.

A house, a home (Poem, Word Meanings, Read it loud)

A House, A Home

What is the difference between a house and a home? Discuss it with your partner. Then read the poem.

What is a house?
It's brick and stone
And wood that's hard.
Some window glass
And perhaps a yard.
It's eaves and chimneys
And tile floors
And stucco and roof
And lots of doors.

What is a home?
It's loving and family
And doing for others.
It's brothers and sisters
And fathers and mothers.
It's unselfish acts
And kindly sharing
And showing your loved ones
You're always caring.
