Get Ready, Rajasthan! The Bullet Train Dream is Speeding Towards Reality!
Imagine zipping from Delhi to Ahmedabad in just a few hours, instead of a long, tiring day. Well, that dream is closer to becoming a reality for Rajasthan! The much-anticipated Delhi-Ahmedabad bullet train project is making significant progress, and our state is set to be a major beneficiary.
This isn't just any train; we're talking about a high-speed marvel that will zoom at an incredible 350 kilometres per hour – that's faster than most planes take off! Once operational, the journey between Delhi and Ahmedabad, which currently takes around 14 hours by road or conventional train, will be cut down to a mere 3 to 4 hours. Think of the time saved for business, tourism, and family visits!
The detailed plan for this ambitious 875-kilometre-long corridor has been prepared and is now awaiting the green light from the central government. And here's the exciting part for us: a massive 657 kilometres of this route will pass right through Rajasthan!
Our state is set to be a major hub for this project, with the bullet train traversing through seven key districts: Alwar, Jaipur, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, Udaipur, and Dungarpur. This means the train will connect 335 villages across these districts, bringing modern connectivity closer to many communities. Out of the total 11 stations planned for the entire route, a whopping nine will be located right here in Rajasthan! These include major cities like Jaipur, Ajmer, Bhilwara, Chittorgarh, and Udaipur, along with other important stops like Behror, Shahjahanpur, Vijayanagar, and Kherwara.
This high-speed link is expected to give a tremendous boost to Rajasthan's already thriving tourism sector. Tourists from Delhi and Gujarat will be able to reach our vibrant cities and historical sites much faster, leading to increased footfall and, in turn, significant economic growth for the region.
While Jodhpur won't be on this particular bullet train route, there's still exciting news for the city! A special high-speed test track is being built in the Jodhpur railway division. And here's a truly groundbreaking detail: India's very first dedicated bullet train trial track, a 60-kilometre stretch, is being constructed in Rajasthan between Gudha Salt and Thathana Mithdi. This unique track will allow trials for high-speed trains, regular passenger trains, and even freight trains without disrupting normal rail traffic – a huge step forward for Indian railways!
The Delhi-Ahmedabad bullet train will not only be fast but also a marvel of engineering, passing through numerous tunnels, over bridges, and across five major rivers. This project truly marks a new era of connectivity and development for Rajasthan. Get ready to experience the future of travel!
