Two more Nifty50 metrics - 'Gain percentage' and 'Volumes Traded'


In this post, we are going to look at two more metrics for checking the growth of Nifty50 index. The first one is "Profit Percentage" and second is "Volumes traded each day".

Profit Percentage:

As of this date, 9th of August 2019, for a monthly SIP of Rs 1000 started in year 1994, the profit percentage for the investment would stand at "442.93".

The formula used is: (("current value" - "cost value") / "cost value") * 100

Volumes traded:

The amount of volumes traded each day is highly fluctuating figure.

Overall, it is a rising figure that has seen growth from 38 million shares traded as on 1 Jan 1997 to 538 million shares traded as on 9 Aug 2019.

A rise by a factor of 14.158.
